Electrohydraulic fragmentation process (EHZ)
The core technology, the material-selective electrohydraulic fragmentation process (EHZ) of REELEMENTS, separates complex material composites and composite materials. The process uses mechanical, high-frequency (current) shock waves generated in a liquid medium coupling the energy and thus fragmenting the recycled material.
The process enables REELEMENTS to obtain a material purity of 98%.
The REELEMENTS recycling process is highly efficient and quick for recycling lithium-ion batteries. After treating the batteries, the active materials of the cathode can be sent back to the production process without having to break them down further into their individual components. Accordingly, the process can also be used for industrial production rejects.
